Umbertide LandscapeCasa Roberto and Casa Giove (Villa Giovi) are in a tiny borgo about a kilometre north of Montecastelli, on the road to Trestina (Via Petricci) near Umbertide in Northern Umbria.

The borgo is surrounded by gentle wooded hills, fields and other small rural communities.  The nearby Cesena to Roma superstrada (E45) means Assisi, Perugia, Florence and Rome are all very accessible.

The delightful little hill town of Montone, bustling Citta di Castello and Lake Trasimeno are all close by; as are Cortona, arts heritage Sansepolcro and historic Gubbio.  Monterchi is also worth a visit, if only to see Piero della Francasca’s fabulous Madonna del Parto.

Not far away is the single track railway serving the stations between Perugia and Sansepolcro – a delightful trip in either direction. We’ve found it best to take the train from Umbertide as it doesn’t always stop in Montecastelli!

Casa GioveUmbria is often called “the green heart of Italy”: come here to see why.  It’s a great place to unwind, relax and enjoy some peace.

Perugia Airport is about half an hour’s drive away.  At present, Ryanair flies to Perugia 5 days a week (not Tuesdays & Saturdays) from Stansted.  Forli (near Bologna), Ancona, Pisa and Rome are all within fairly easy reach.  Car hire is available at them all.

Alternatively, Calais is approximately 925 miles away – a two day drive.

We will send detailed directions upon receipt of your final payment and Multimap will help you to find the location if you want to look before you book!
